Puppies rescued from freezing cold

Who could dump six little puppies, and just leave them in the freezing cold?
Alex Johnston wants to know.
"I just couldn't believe that somebody would leave puppies, especially that young and helpless," said Johnston.
The Emporia man found these six puppies Monday morning, next to a dumpster
The puppies were left in a burlap sack under a receiving door sign at the Salvation Army.
Johnston's black car was parked only a few feet from the dumpster, so he heard the whimpers and went to check it out.
"I picked up the one that was outside the bag, and checked the other bag," said Johnston.
Johnston says they were extremely cold.
"I just wanted to get them inside and get them warm as soon as I could," said Johnston.
Now the puppies are safe and cuddled together.
They were taken to a vet who says they are less than 10 days old. Ttheir eyes aren't even open yet.
To keep the puppies warm they were kept on a heating pad in a basket.
They are so young they still have to be bottle fed every two hours.
Buck Animal Welfare fund is trying to find these puppies good homes.
"I am glad I was there to rescue them," said Johnston.
There are two little girls and four boys.
Right now the puppies are enjoying nuzzling up to their siblings.
