Ten people were arrested during drug busts Wednesday night in and around Manhattan, and more arrests are expected.

Officers from Manhattan, Riley and Pottawatomie counties and the KBI made the arrests at nine addresses today.

It was part of an investigation into the distribution and sale of marijuana and crack cocaine in the Manhattan and Riley County area.

The investigation is continuing.

The Riley County Police Department was assisted by the KBI, Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, Riley county Attorney's Office, Riley County Juvenile Intake, Manhattan Animal Control and Manhattan Fire Department.

Information on defendants tied to this drug investigation

Jamaal L. Davis (4-20-79), 1204 W. 21st St., Junction City, arrested for:

• Sale of Crack Cocaine (3 counts)
• Unlawful Use of Telecommunication Device (4 counts)
• Unlawful Acquisition of Drug Proceeds (3 counts)
• No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp

Beauyett Young III (11-29-80), 3323 Anderson Ave., Manhattan, arrested for:

• Possession of Marijuana

Fredrick Derell Swinson (10-3-87), 1100 N. 6th St. Manhattan, arrested for:

• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Deandre Griffin (5-25-75), 820 Dondee, Manhattan, arrested For:

• Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony & misd.)
• No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp

Stephanie D. Medellin (09-17-84), 723 Allison #7, Manhattan, arrested For:

• Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
• No Kansas Drug Tax Stamp
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony & misd.)
• Endangering a Child

Vera M. McCullers (08-03-61), 810 Fremont #1a, Manhattan, arrested For:

• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony & misd.)

Kelvin M. Kaiser (07-14-55), 331 Thurston St., Manhattan, arrested for:

• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Michael O. Brown (11-13-84), 3107 Heritage Ct. #52, Manhattan, arrested for:

• Possession of Marijuana

Melvin T. Kirk (5-13-74), 916 Pottawatomie, Manhattan, arrested for:

• Sale Of Crack Cocaine
• Unlawful Use of Telecommunication Device
• Unlawful Acquisition of Drug Proceeds

Jesse G. Chatfield (3-15-62), 605 S. 15th Street, Manhattan, arrested for:

• Possession of Cocaine w/ Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony)

In addition, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, assisted by the Riley County Police Department, Wamego Police Department, Kansas Wildlife and Parks, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at 5460 Taylors View Road, Manhattan, Pottawatomie County on the evening of 4/30/2008.

Officers arrested the following subjects:

Darryl L. Wheeler, Male, 36, arrested for:

• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of methamphetamine
• One count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Julie A. Martin, Female, 50, arrested for:

• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of methamphetamine
• One count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Tracy Spencer, Female, 39 of 611 1/2 Valley, Wamego, arrested for:

• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Driving suspended

Thomas Picolet, Male, 27 of 611 1/2 Valley Wamego, arrested for:

• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Bond has not been set. Search warrant was a result of a joint investigation by Riley County Police Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office.
