The MIAA softball tournament is going on out in Shawnee, Kansas and both Washburn and Emporia State breezed through their first round games.
The Lady Blues took down Pitt State 6-0. And the 12th ranked Lady Hornets laid the smack down on Fort Hays State 11-0.
Mirranda Campbell lead the way at the dish for ESU, knocking in 3 runs.
With both teams winning their first round games, they then faced each other later in the afternoon for a little turnpike Tussle on the diamond. The Lady Hornets take down their arch rivals 11-2 for their 18th straight conference victory.
ESU will take on Northwest Missouri in the conference championship Friday at noon.
Washburn moved on to the consolation game, which they got started but had to be postponed until Friday at noon because of the severe weather out in Johnson County.
Currently, Washburn trails Central Missouri 2-0 in the top of the third inning.
