Former KU tight end and team captain Derek Fine also strapped on his NFL gear for the first time today.
Fine was selected in the fourth round with the one hundred thirty-second pick by the Buffalo Bills.
In his senior season, this former Jayhawk made a name for himself, becoming KU's season- and career-receptions leader for tight ends.
Now with rookie camp in session, Fine is under the spotlight even more.
"I think I ran about 800 or 900 plays today on my own," Fine said. "But on the other hand, it's a really good thing 'cause then it allows me to get more reps and it allows Coach to focus more on me and coach me and help me along so whenever we get the OTA's and training camp and other stuff like that, I can be more caught up with the other vets."
Fine and the Bills open their regular season schedule at home against Seattle.
They'll also make a trip to Kansas City on November 23.
