Critic: P.S., don't buy the DVD

"P.S. I Love You" stars Oscar-winner Hillary Swank, who "does the best that she can" with the material provided, Film Critic Keith Van Sickle said.

"What you have here is a movie that has every romantic comedy cliche," he said.

The plot: She and her husband, played by Gerard Butler, have been together 10 years. They are deeply in love, and he passes away. Swank's character is surprised to learn that he has left letters for her to find and read for years. Those messages come in all shapes and sizes and teach Swank, and her best friend, played by Lisa Kudrow, about themselves and the relationships they have/had.

"P.S. I Love You" has some touching and funny moments, and it may be worth a rent on Pay-Per-View or on a two-for-one DVD rental, Van Sickle said.

"It's not a horrible movie, but it's not worth picking up for 20 bucks," he said.

And, viewers will likely be disappointed if they are looking for extras on the DVD version, which came out today, he said.

Tune in to 49 News' Good Morning Kansas every Friday at 6:50 for Van Sickle's reviews of the latest movies to hit the theaters.
