Winning a BCS Bowl and losing just one game all season causes many to sit up and take notice, especially when the following year's campaign comes about.
Jayhawk center Ryan Cantrell is one of those benefiting from that Orange Bowl victory and 12-and-1 record. Cantrell was named to the 2008 Spring Watch List for the Rimington Trophy. The senior center started all 13 games last season and also earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors, as well as KU's Gale Sayers Award for courage.
Joining Cantrell and the 40 other nominees is fellow Big 12 center Jordan Bedore. The Kansas State senior started just five games last year before suffering a a season-ending injury.
The winner will be honored at the Rimington Trophy Presentation banquet in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 17.
