ESU softball team very busy, not just with softball

Twenty-four hours ago, the Emporia State softball team captured the North Central Regional Tournament Crown.
In the time since, the Hornets have had to celebrate, spend time with mom, pack and board a plane for Houston.
As if that wasn't enough, with the semester coming to a close these student-athletes also have to find the time to squeeze in finals.
Many of the Hornets took exams Monday morning before boarding their charter plane at Forbes Field to head to the World Series.
Many others will have to take more once they reach Houston, along with perform community service and attend a banquet and prepare for the most important tournament of their season.
The sixth-ranked Hornets take on ninth-ranked CW Post on Wednesday at 5:30 to open the national tournament.
The winner of that game advances to face the winner of number-one ranked Lock Haven versus Humboldt State.
That game is set for Thursday.
