High school soccer in regional tournament action

Grab your popcorn and a front seat for this one, folks, top-seeded Seaman took on Newton in the regional soccer tournament. In the second half, the Vikes were up 2-0, Jessica Hillebert passes ahead to Brittany Sipp, who's leveled by the Railers' Melissa Volk. Penalty kick time and Sipp sneaks one in, 3-0 Seaman. Later, another Viking penalty kick and this time, it's Brooklyn Sipp and just like big sis, she sends it in. Vikings advance to the regional finals, 5-0.

As for who the Vikings will play, fourth-seeded Hayden hosted five-seed Shawnee Heights. In the first half, the Cats' Paula Stueve shoots it toward the goal, where it's deflected. Stephanie Rodgers is there for the putback, but the T-Birds' Shelby Nincehelser is called for the handball. Hayden's Michelle Sommer taking the penalty kick and she sends it in along the post. Hayden takes a 1-0 lead and go on to win the game, 3-0. They'll play at Seaman on Thursday.
