Smoking ban passes in Manhattan

Soon, smoking will be banned in many public places in Manhattan.
Tonight, voters in the Little Apple approved a smoking ban.
57 percent of voters said yes.
This summer, the Manhattan city commission decided to put it to a vote.
And supporters of the ban say they fought hard against misinformation in the campaign.
"They saw through all of the stories from the other side and finally what the city commission didn't do and what hasn't happened until now, the voters passed this ordinance...Very exciting," ban proponent David Seay said.
This is an issue the Manhattan city commission refused to decide three times.
That last time, they decided to put it on the ballot.
The ban goes into effect in 60 days.

Really too bad you had to be so drastic on this smoking ban. Guess people from Up North and Your surrounding area will go else where to spend their money...be it at a Chiropractors office, the mall or eateries... I would be fearful of being fined for smoking on the property... Understandably we don't smoke in the office...but all in all...I don't go to have a beer or a mix drink if I can't have a smoke if I want one. Even playing pool is no pleasure if I can't have a smoke....
PLEASE DON'T BREATH IN THE AIR AROUND YOU....THE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTIONS ARE MUCH WORSE THAN A CIGARETTE, BUT DON'T ASK THE GOVT... IT ISN'T POLLITICALLY CORRECT TO TELL YOU YOU BREATH WORSE EVERY DAY....
