Man is $57 ahead for watching 49 News
Dozens of callers resulted in some winners in the 49 News unclaimed property phone bank this week.
Topeka Watching 49 News paid off for some of our viewers Wednesday night.
We had volunteers taking calls, and checking on possible unclaimed property.
In just 30 minutes, we had more than 50 callers and several, including Jim Hallar, had something being held in the state's vault.
For him, it was $57 in commission on an insurance sale he made 25 years ago.
"It was certainly easy," said Hallar. "I'd encourage anybody that might think that they have money that had gotten lost or something that they call in and check. It's quite easy."
