Holiday trimmings in Topeka
5:05 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Topeka.
That's because the Governor's Christmas tree arrived today.
It showed up in style, in a horse drawn wagon at the Governor's Mansion.
Governor Kathleen Sebelius was there for its arrival.
Every year, a different tree farm provides the governor's Christmas tree.
This year's tree comes from Pittsburg.
That's not the only sign of the holiday showing up in Topeka.
Santa kept an eye on gingerbread houses now on display at the Topeka Performing Arts Center.
There are fancy ones, unusual ones and some that may have you longing for warmer weather.
The gingerbread houses are on display through Sunday.
This is a fundraiser for T-PAC. You can bid on your favorite gingerbread house. Winners will be revealed Sunday.
