In the 4A state championship game, Northeast Kansas had two teams represented as Hayden looks to add to there list of titles, while Perry-Lecompton makes their first championship game appearance in school history.
Kaws would have some work to do as they were already down 14 to nothing in the second quarter, but a Shane Gimzo touchdown pass to Mark Higgins would help to cut the Hayden lead in half.
But the Cats would scratch back later in the quarter Raymond Gragg would get the hand-off and bull his way to paydirt to make it 21-7.
And the Wildcats would would keep pouring it on as John Bannister would take it into the endzone on a sweep play.
That would help Hayden run away with the 4A title as they take it 42-21.
