Motorist Alert: Friday's road work areas

Weather permitting, on Friday, October 3, both northbound and southbound US-77 will close approximately 2.5 miles north of the US-36 interchange in Marshall County for a railroad crossing repair project. Union Pacific Railroad crews will be complete repair work at the crossing. The US-77 closure will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, and will reopen to all traffic at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
Marked detours will be provided. Northbound US-77 traffic will detour west on US-36, then north on K-148 to the Kansas/Nebraska state line, where they will then head north on Nebraska Highway 112 to Nebraska Highway 8 and then back east on US-77. Southbound US-77 traffic from Nebraska will detour west on Nebraska Highway 8 to the junction of Nebraska Highway 112, then proceed south on Nebraska Highway 112 to the Kansas/Nebraska state line, then south on K-148 to US-36, where they will then turn east on US-36 and head back to US-77. During the road closure, drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time as needed.
Weather permitting, on Friday, October 3, the westbound left lane on I-70 will be closed from 4th Street to the MacVicar Avenue interchange between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for drain flushing and brooming operations on the Polk-Quincy Viaduct Bridge.
Drivers should expect minor delays and allow extra time for travel as needed.
