Jury selection may be complete today in the first-degree murder trial of Kevin Hernandez in Riley County District Court.
The 20-year-old is accused of killing his former roommate, Adam Hooks, cutting up the body and stuffing the pieces into trash bags which were found in the victim's Jeep.
During a preliminary hearing, a coroner testified that Hooks' arms, legs were severed at the knees and shoulders and his head was cut off; his genitalia also was mutilated, the coroner said.
Hooks' body was contained in five trash bags inside his parked car; he was found outside of his Manhattan residence on June 10, 2007, about one day after the murder, an investigator testified.
