Spend more imagination, less money this Halloween

With the economy faltering, a lot of folks are looking to do Halloween on a budget.

Whether you're a kid, or just a kid at heart, Halloween is a time to look forward to.

With the economy faltering, a lot of folks are looking to do Halloween on a budget.

That's going to mean:

*Getting Creative

*Shopping online early

*Re-using what you already have.

We found this Web site called "The Dollar Stretcher" that explains how to make low cost costumes for kids. A shark is one example: All you need is a gray hooded sweatsuit, white felt and a gray piece of cardboard. Glue white felt teeth around the hood, and put the cardboard fin on the back, and you're ready to go... Cute, easy and inexpensive.

If crafts aren't your thing, you can find sales online, but you'll need to shop early.

As for home decorations, instead of buying expensive pre-designed lights like these for your windows, consider using your Christmas lights and making ghostly shapes out of them.

Definitely agree that shopping online is the best option for Halloween. I've used Sortprice each of the past two years and their selection of vendors is immense. I highly recommend it:
