Riley County police now know the identity of a woman found dead Sunday.
Alheli Alcantara, 18, was found lying behind the Quality Inn at 150 East Poyntz. Now, they need the community's help to discover who's responsible.
Alcantara was last seen about six hours earlier in Topeka. She lived in Manhattan before moving to Topeka.
Riley County Police are searching for this minivan in connection with a suspicious death reported Oct. 12. It's a light colored, 1991, Toyota Previa minivan with a Kansas tag reading 980 BCK. Anyone who knows of this van's location should call police at (785) 537-2112.
Authorities say foul play is suspected, and have determined the cause of death to be trauma and blood loss.
Police are asking the public to be looking for a light colored 1991 Toyota Previa minivan with a Kansas tag of 980 BCK. The vehicle had a burned-out driver's side headlight, no wiper on the rear window (missing), and a K-State sticker on the rear window. The rear windows are tinted, making it difficult to see the sticker.
It may be the key to solving this crime.
