Authorities say skeletal remains found by hunters in north-central Kansas may be those of a female.
Cloud County Sheriff Larry Bergstrom says evidence found at the scene suggests the person was in her late teens to mid-30s. But the sheriff adds there were no other clues that would help identify the person.
Deer hunters found the partial remains on Saturday in woods near the Republican River, just northwest of Concordia. The site is not far from busy Highway U.S. 81.
Bergstrom's office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation were making arrangements Tuesday to have the remains tested.
The sheriff says authorities aren't aware of any missing person reports in the area.
