Update:A 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Johana Rodriguez-Merlo, 30, of Topeka, tried to avoid a truck changing lanes and over-corrected, striking outside concrete barrier on I-70 eastbound at the Gage Boulevard exit. She was taken to the Stormont Vail.
Police are responding to Interstate 70 between Gage and MacVicar where an injury accident occurred at about 2:05 p.m.
A Topeka Police dispatcher says only one vehicle is involved in the accident. The extent of injuries is unknown, but AMR is on the scene.
Only eastbound lanes are affected. Expect delays if driving on that stretch of I-70.
Traffic is urged to avoid the area if possible.
