Criminal forces way into home, steals property

Topeka Police are investigating another home invasion.
It happened at about 10:40 Wednesday night in the 2100 block of Southeast Indiana.
Police say a man in his 40s forced his way into a home, showed a gun and demanded money.
He left with some property, but no one was hurt.
The Topeka Police Department is investigating.

Recent home invasions in the Capital City have police and neighbors on alert.
Just last month two kids were held at gunpoint while robbers stole a Playstation, games and a laptop from their home in the 5200 block of Southwest West Drive. (See story.)
The mother of one of the kids was asleep inside the home during the crime.
Just a few days later, an invasion at a home at 310 SE Hancock ended in gunfire. (See story.)
A man answered a knock at the door, and he was shot in the back as he ran away.
The suspects entered the house and shot another man sitting on the couch.
