"I have no idea where the tenants are," rental house owner Ken Williams said.

Ken Williams is the owner of this house, but rents it out.

He went up to the door to see a notice from Animal Control.

Animal Control came by yesterday, after hearing the house was possibly abandoned and a dog was left inside.

When Williams came to open the door for the Animal Control officers, he couldn't get in.

"They changed locks on me," Williams said.

Williams and the officer tried all of the doors to get inside the house.

He told us he didn't know there were pets inside.

A locksmith opened the doors, and our cameras were there for the rescue.

They thought there was only one dog, but another was inside when they opened the door. So the animal control officer went to check the rest of the house, and found another fury friend, a chinchilla.

Williams couldn't believe what happened.

'Kind of in shock and awe. They wasn't supposed to have an animal, and when I found out they haven't been on the property in at least two weeks, you know, distressing," Williams said.

Williams said he didn't know the tenants left.

"From what I understand, two weeks, the neighbors said they haven't seen them for two weeks, so I don't know," Williams said.

But, he did know there wasn't any power.

"The water was shut off on the 12th of August, and the power was shut off on the 26th of August," Williams said.

A neighbor tells us he watched the family leave.

"Her mom come and helped her get the kids, and they left," Williams said.

And they left the pets behind.

"Two weeks of a dog being locked in a basement, no food, no water," neighbor Mike said.

All three animals were taken to the city vet to be inspected and treated.

Animal Control tells us the pets will be held for Three days. They give the owners a chance to claim the animals, and will be ticketed.

If they are not claimed, the animals will be released to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
