Shawnee County emergency responders are making sure they're on the cutting edge of technology.
Today at a conference at the Ramada Inn, different groups displayed their technology.
The Topeka Bomb Squad was there with their robot.
It was used to get to investigate a bomb scare in Emporia just last week.
Also on display was new tracking equipment that will go home with the Shawnee County Emergency Management department.
"Here to my right is the new accountability equipment so we can track not only the responders, but even civilians that will be tagged coming into disaster areas," Shawnee County Emergency Management director Dave Sterbenz said.
They're even using that tracker at the conference to monitor who's going to which classes.
