Governor Sebelius spoke about the turmoil on Wall Street today.

She believes the government must doing something quickly and they must stand behind the markets.

But, she says speed isn't as critical as the actual plan itself.

"I also think that it's important that some time be taken to look at the details of the plan," Governor Sebelius said. "The worst of all worlds is to spend too much money giving golden parachutes to those who caused this in the first place."

She also said it's important that Washington craft a plan that not only eases the turmoil but stabilizes the economy for the future.

Also on the mind of the governor today was fixing the energy crisis.

She's jumped on board with the Pickens Plan.

She announced today that she has signed T. Boone Pickens' energy independence pledge and supports the call for Congress to deliver a comprehensive energy plan in the first 100 days of the next administration.

Pickens laid out his plan for Topekans in July.

Part of that plan is to put wind turbines up in Kansas and other states as well as using natural gas to fuel vehicles to reduce the dependence on foreign oil.
