While many are watching what's going on in Washington, some are focusing on state politics.
They're members of what's called the Kansas Silver Haired Legislature.
They represent every county in Kansas and come together every fall.
"Our basic purpose is to come up with ideas which will be helpful to the seniors in Kansas who need assistance that maybe only the Kansas legislature can provide," Silver Haired legislator Jim Snyder said.
This year, the silver haired legislature hopes to get money for the Department of Aging and maybe start a senior trust fund.
