Illegal Gambling

The clock is ticking to shut down a pool hall. It's a story we broke first on KTKA.com
The Shawnee County District Attorney says too many serious crimes happen at Deep Pockets and wants to see its doors closed for good.
The latest an illegal gambling ring.
Cops swarmed Deep Pockets Monday night, taking the building by storm from every angle.
Jarren Greer was working across the street when police raided the pool hall.
"They were climbing the roof hauling people off," Greer said.
Police charged the owner, Frank Antonelli, with three felony counts of commercial gambling.
Undercover officers had been casing the pool hall for an extended time and now the DA wants the business shut down for good, in the next 30 days. He says there have been too many problems in the past.
On October 6, 2007, police were called in for a shooting. In February of this year, a homicide. Now charges of an illegal gambling ring, which police hope is the last.
Greer says she never needs to see that again,
"People were in masks on and then another came in and said there was illegal gambling. They hauled all the pool tables poker tables out, cleaned the whole place out," she said.
Police removed evidence including substantial amounts of cash, poker chips and firearms.
Monday night's raid may have some of you worried about your Friday night poker games.
So when does gambling become illegal?
If a bar or restaurant isn't licensed for commercial gambling, it's illegal for a person running the game to get money in any amount, take, record or forward bets, take anything of value for a bet, hold a lottery or take money out of a gambling machine.
