If you use Microsoft on your computer, it may have a worm that you are not even aware of yet. According to Geek Squad supervisor, Marcus Schultz-Bergin, the worst may yet to have come.
"The main goal is for it to lay dormant until a random time when it is told to do something more malicious."
It's the Conficker worm. It has already affected 12 million people around the country and according to the Geek squad it could get worse.
"They should definitely be worried because we don't know what may happen. It could be something very major when it finally does get contacted and the worm finally does actually start to affect computers in a more malicious format."
One of the fears is this worm could steal your identity. But according to workers at the Geek Squad, there is an easy way to make sure you and your computer are protected.
"People should definitely check to see if they have it and the easiest way to do that is to just to go to a web site like Norton.com or trendmicro.com.... If you're able to access the web site, you're probably safe."
The damage the worm can do is still unknown but the Geek squads advice is to be proactive not reactive.
