Free kids golf clinics set for fall

Community Action's The First Tee of Shawnee County, an introductory golf program for youth elementary through high school age, has scheduled 3 Fall clinics at Forbes Golf Course from 2 - 3:30 p.m., Sept. 5th, 12th & 26th. The Saturday clinics are to introduce youngsters to the game of golf and the life skills the game teaches. There is no cost to participate and all equipment is provided.

An initiative of Community Action, Inc., the program is a partnership with Shawnee County Parks & Recreation, Walmart, The First Tee Foundation, the United States Golf Association and private donors.

Community Action empowers individuals, families and communities to overcome poverty through education, advocacy, prevention and services to meet basic human needs. Programs include Head Start, housing and home services such as weatherization, emergency home repair, and accessibility modification.
