Kansas Attorney General Steve Six's office plans to conduct two day-long consumer workshops for high school students during National Consumer Protection Week in March.
Six says high school grads often can't handle consumer economics issues when they head for college. The sessions are March 3 at the University of Kansas and March 6 at Kansas State.
Six said some students struggle with contracts, such as those for phone service or a health club. Other problem areas involve basic finances and student loan and banking practices. Six said students need to know about their credit history, Internet scams and identity theft.
