Dustin Liddick was upstairs when it hit.
"I come downstairs and everything broke loose. Softball size hail was coming through the window. I was trying to get my 1 year old son out the door, but couldn't get out the door to open the cellar. It was pretty nuts," said Liddick.
As the hail battered his home, it was so loud he thought it was a tornado.
"I was kind of scared. I wanted to get him in the hole so nothing happened to him. I don't know. Him being 1 and me being a new father, I was just... going crazy," said Liddick.
Alta Vista is a mess. The baseball sized hailstones shattered glass on homes and cars, and ripped limbs off trees.
"It was just a roar. It tore up things pretty good," said Charles Martin.
He says he's glad his home is still standing, but there's a lot to clean up. He's only lived in Alta Vista for 2 years and this will be the second time he's had to replace the roof.
"We'll call the insurance company and have them come down, we're just cleaning up right now," said Martin.
He says he had hailstones bouncing through his windows and into his house.
"It's going to be a long day. I ain't going to have to go to work. It's gonna be a bunch of cleaning up for the whole town so we can get everybody back to where they were," said Liddick
Hethinks the damage is so severe it will take several weeks to get back to normal.
