Like many other companies, the RV industry has taken a hit because of the economy, but people are still traveling across the country to buy RV's in Junction City.

"Having the resiliency to get through something like we've been going through," New Horizon's RV Owner Cole Brokenicky said.

For the RV industry, winter has been a rough season for sales and Brokenicky says they felt the hit.

"Sales, like everything else in the economy, were really slow through the winter," he said.

This family-owned business says the hardest part was laying off 16 workers right before Christmas time.

"Having some sleepless nights over that kind of stuff," he recalled.

Instead of moping, Brokenicky says they focused on quality over quantity.

"A lot of the industry is more concerned about the amount of units they can get out a year as opposed to how good can we build them," he explained.

Now. they're bouncing back.

"Sales, they're picking back up," Brokenicky said.

These homes on wheels could cost anywhere from $90,000 to $200,000 and Brokenicky says people from the east coast to the west coast are splurging.

"People are starting to feel a little more safe about spending their money," he said.

New Horizons has been able to hire people back, and hire some new people. They hired 24 people, going from 8 workers building the RV's to 32 and while sales aren't where they'd like them to be yet, Brokenicky says they're optimistic.

"We're excited to be back where we are now," he said. "We're excited to keep moving forward."
