In April a residence in the southwest portion of Junction City was entered and a number of items were taken. Included in those items were four guns and some electronic equipment. On May 18, another residence located in the southwest portion of Junction City was also broken into. Seven guns and more electronic equipment were taken in this incident. On June 15 and 16, a number of unsecured vehicles were broken into in the southwest part of Junction City and items were stolen. That same night, a vehicle was stolen from the 300 block of West Chestnut.

On June 18, detectives from the Junction City Drug Operations Group executed a search warrant unrelated to the burglaries here in Junction City in the 900 block of West 12th and recovered items that were taken in the vehicle burglaries that occurred on the 15th & 16th of June. A 17 year old Junction City male was subsequently arrested in connection with the burglaries and the theft of the vehicle from the 300 block of West Chestnut. Interviews by detectives tied the burglaries in April and May to the June vehicle burglaries. This led to the execution of four search warrants and one consent to search of a residence on June 19, at different locations around Junction City. Three guns from the earlier mentioned residential burglaries were recovered, along with other evidence to include a bullet proof vest. Eighteen year old, Romel Williams and 18 year old, Philemon Turner were arrested on June 19 in connection with the two residential burglaries on the southwest part of Junction City. Both were Junction City residents. On June 23, detectives arrested 18 year old, Charles Barnes, a Junction City resident, in connection with the residential burglaries. This arrest led to the recovery of three more of the weapons hidden under a home on Riley Manor. All three guns were from the burglaries on the southwest part of Junction City.

The investigation has revealed that some of those arrested have ties to a local gang called the "MOB". The investigation is continuing into the burglaries and more arrests are expected.
