Community Action helps Topekans get homes ready for winter

— Community Action is distributing free Winterization Kits at a workshop Wednesday.

The kits include weather stripping, caulk and plastic to cover windows.

Community Action helps Topekans get homes ready for winter

Community Action is distributing free Winterization Kits at a workshop Wednesday.

The 4:00 p.m. workshop demonstrates how to properly use the kits, which were only given to those who were eligible.

Eligibility for free kits is set at or below 200% of the Federal income guidelines. For example, a family of three has to make less than $36,620; a family of four, $44,100.

One more workshop is scheduled at Community Action's Swygart Center, 621, SE Swygart, on November 11 at 4:00 p.m. To reserve a space, call (785) 235-9269.
