Topeka-based soldier injured in Ft. Hood shooting

A 21-year-old woman previously stationed in Topeka is among the wounded in the Fort Hood shooting.

Keara Bono, 21, of Independence, Mo., was one of the injured soldiers.

Keara Bono, 21, of Independence, Mo., was shot in the back at Fort Hood. She was one of about 31 people wounded. 12 others, including the gunman were killed.

Bono is in stable condition and will recover from her injuries.

Wounded soldier's mom shares experience

The mother of 21-year-old Keara Bono, shares her thoughts and emotions of when she learned her daughter had been shot in the back in Ft. Hood.

Bono was previously stationed in Topeka, but on Wednesday, Nov. 4, she was sent to Fort Hood.

She worked with returning soldiers dealing wartime stress.
