Search continues for missing Horton woman

The town of Horton remains hopeful as the search continues for Patricia Kimmi.

The Sheriffs Department found part of her dentures just a mile from her home and they believe foul play is involved.

But as Lourin Sprenger reports, they remain hopeful Patricia Kimmi is still alive.

Search continues for missing Horton woman

The town of Horton remains hopeful as the search continues for Patricia Kimmi.

"I need two groups of ten I need 19 people," says Kimmi's daughter, Rita Boller.

Dozens of hopefuls gather as the search for a missing Horton woman continues. It's been days since 58-year-old Pat Kimmi went missing from her home.

"It's tough, its tough, and we just want to find her," says Boller.

And evidence continues to roll in on the open case. Despite signs indicating Kimmi has been hurt, police and family remain hopeful she's alive.

"We're very concerned for her safety," says Atchison County Sheriff, John Calhoon. "I really try to believe unless we find a body dead there is hope."

Volunteers, fire fighters and police scour the area surrounding Kimmi's home just outside of Horton on Highway 159.

"We have some reason to believe she has some injuries to say the least," says Calhoon.

The newest evidence was found just down the road. Although they won't disclose what it was, Atchison County Sheriffs believe she can't be far.

"A couple mile radius of her house," says Calhoon.

A number of people have been identified for questioning in the case, including Kimmi's husband, but the sheriff says starting with the family is protocol and no hard facts are linking him to her disappearance.

"We have to go by process of elimination," says Calhoon.

The community is determined to leave no stone unturned in their search.

"Even if its nothing you still want to flag it, it may be nothing but later it may be," says Boller. And for now, "She would want us to share the message of faith regardless of how this turns out. Bottom line, everything is going to be okay."

The Sheriff's Department is hoping to bring more people in for questioning.
