With Thanksgiving almost here, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and Topeka Police Department want to remind not to take a vacation from safety this season.
Both offices will be participating in a special "Thanksgiving Traffic Enforcement Campaign" from Monday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 29.
“Keep in mind, if you are going to be drinking – any amount at all– don’t consider driving home. Arrange to ride with a non-drinking acquaintance or call a cab. Don’t let pride or convenience endanger your life and the lives of innocent others," say the Topeka Police. "If we catch you breaking the law, it will cost you!”
There will be additional officers out enforcing DUI and seat belt laws.
