Rep. Jerry Moran has increased his campaign funding gap between himself and fellow Kansas Republican Rep. Todd Tiahrt.
The two members of Congress are seeking the party's nomination to replace Sen. Sam Brownback, who is retiring to run for governor.
Moran reported to the Federal Election Commission on Thursday that he has more than $3.4 million in cash on hand, up from $3.1 million at the end of July. Tiahrt began and ended the reporting period with about $1.4 million available.
For the period through the end of September, Moran says he raised more than $520,000. Tiahrt reports raising more than $341,000 for the same period.
Democrat Charles Schollenberger formed his campaign after the filing deadline and is not required to report.
