Family Fitness Fun Night

Students and parents at one Topeka school learned about food, fitness and fun.

— Topeka students and their parents learned about good eating habits and exercise tonight.

It was the second annual Family Fitness Fun Night at Robinson Middle School. Students and parents from Robinson and two nearby elementary schools took part in all sorts of activities to learn about the importance of healthful food, good eating habits and exercise.

"By helping them make good choices now they're going to take that with them in to their teenage years and in to adulthood," said Lisa Regnier, a volunteer with the 501 Health Council. "So hopefully the seeds that they are planting they'll have through out the rest of their life."

School officials say the Robinson event has proven so popular - other schools in the district are also planning family fitness fun nights.
