Kitchen fire causes major damage

A kitchen fire caused heavy flames and lots of smoke at an apartment at 1337 SW Woodhull Drive early Friday afternoon.

A kitchen fire caused heavy flames and lots of smoke at an apartment at 1337 SW Woodhull Drive early Friday afternoon.

Topeka firefighters were able to contain the fire to one apartment though neighboring apartments were affected by light smoke.

A firefighter did receive a minor burn, but no other injuries were reported.

The fire caused $100,000 in damages.
