Two young girls have been found dead following a house fire in the south-central Kansas town of Mulvane.
Police Chief David Williams says the bodies of the girls, 3 and 4 years old, were discovered when firefighters were called to the home around 12:40 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say the parents were taking a nap when the fire broke out. The father told authorities he couldn't get to the back room where the girls were sleeping because of thick smoke.
Williams says the fire department is seeking investigative help from the Sedgwick County and Wichita fire departments.
