In the two Kansas State wins this past week, senior point guard Denis Clemente averaged 26.5 points, and because of his outstanding play, the Big 12 named him conference player of the week on Monday.
This is the second time in Clemente's career he has picked up the honor. After scoring 23 against Nebraska on Tuesday, Clemente notched his third 30-point performance in his career on 9-of-18 shooting against Iowa State.
In both games, Clemente shot 50 percent, including 64.7 percent from beyond the three-point line. Prior to Tuesday game in Lincoln, Clemente had shot under 30 percent from the three-point line on the season.
Clemente totaled seven rebounds while averaging 36 minutes.
