Topeka Reverend Max Manning is returning to Haiti this week. The director of Topeka-based Global Missions, Inc. will lead a team of eight people, including two medical doctors from Topeka, Joy Henderson, M.D. and Cynthia Scheibe, M.D.
Longtime Topeka missionary headed to Haiti again
A local pastor who's been traveling to Haiti for 47 years leaves on another mission trip Tuesday.
Family of God Church is also loading two large shipping containers with clothing, bedding, and other supplies for the people of Haiti. Manning says even the containers themselves are being donated to be used as shelter. The group will spend about a week in Haiti.
Manning has been traveling to Haiti at various times for the past 47 years. He has helped establish 150 churches there. During this trip, Manning will be meeting with pastors of those churches to assess needs and offer encouragement.
