Health Agency offers final flu shot clinic
The Shawnee County Health Agency is hosting one last flu shot clinic Tuesday afternoon at the Expocentre.
The shots are available until 7 p.m.
There were very few lines at 4 p.m., and officials say there has been a decline in turnout during the last few clinics.
Although this is the last public clinic, Health Agency officials say the H1N1 virus is still a threat and people should continue to get vaccinated.
Health Agency officials say there will still be opportunities to get the vaccination after Tuesday's final clinic.
"Maybe your personal doctor will have some in their office, and you can go there and get vaccinated. Places in the community, pharmacies, Walgreens and take care clinics they also have vaccine available, so you can go there and get your vaccine as well," Shawnee County Health Agency's Misty Kruger said.
Kruger added some of the private providers will charge a small fee for the vaccine.
The Health Agency will continue to offer the the vaccine for free, and officials urge those interested to call (785) 368-2000.
