Topeka A Topeka man has been sentenced to 17 years on drug and firearm charges in connection with an incident in which he was shot wile trying to rob a federal agent.
Antoine Cardin Williams, 29, was sentenced to 204 months for the March 2009 incident.
In his plea he admitted that on March 25, 2009, he and co-defendant Phillip Tyrone Williams planned on selling crack cocaine and a .38-caliber derringer at a motel in the 1200 block of SW Wanamaker. They didn't know the buyer was a federal agent working undercover.
During the transaction, Antoine Cardin Williams held the agent at gunpoint wile Phillip Tyrone Williams searched the agent and took his weapon. When federal agents entered the motel room to assist the agent held at gunpoint, one of the agents shot Antoine Cardin Williams.
Phillip Tyrone Williams will be sentenced April 12, 2010.
