Peggy Carlisle, Jackson, Miss. teacher, is a 24-year veteran of the classroom. Carlisle teaches Science and Mathematics at Pecan Park Elementary. "Mrs. Carlisle is an inspiring, creative, and compassionate teacher who welcomes challenges and is constantly seeking unique ways to keep children interested in learning," said Wanda Quon, principal. Carlisle learned of her award at a surprise ceremony in Jackson, Miss. She will join teachers from New Mexico, Virginia, New York, and Washington for a series of recognition events in Emporia, Kan. which include a band concert, a roundtable discussion and a banquet and induction ceremony.

Pat S. Graff, Albuquerque teacher, will take her place among the best teachers in America during a five-day induction into The National Teachers Hall of Fame June 16-20 in Emporia, Kan. and Washington, D.C. A 20 - year veteran of the classroom, Graff teaches Journalism, Humanities and Social Studies at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque. "She [Pat] does not just teach well, which many teachers do; she takes it one step further and makes sure that the students are recognized. It is this recognition that givers her students the motivation to work diligently and want to please her. Recognition to a student cannot be understated," said Maria Elana Casanova, colleague and parent.

Floyd Holt,New York teacher, will take his place among the best teachers in America during a five-day induction into The National Teachers Hall of Fame June 16-20 in Emporia, Kan. and Washington, D.C. Holt is a 33-year veteran of the classroom. Holt teaches Physics at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, New York. "In my estimation there is no other teacher quite like Floyd. He has the ability to connect with his students in almost magical ways. His innovative style combined with his 'hands-on' approach to learning captures the imagination of his students."

Harlan Kredit, Washington teacher, will take his place among the best teachers in America during a five-day induction into The National Teachers Hall of Fame June 16-20 in Emporia, Kan. and Washington, D.C. A 33-year veteran of the classroom, Kredit teaches Science at Lynden Christian High in Lynden, Wash. "Whether Mr. Kredit is teaching from within or outside of the classroom (everywhere is his classroom), his wealth of knowledge, his love for his students, and the passion for his area of instruction are contagious," said Henry D. Kok, Superintendent, Lynden Christian School.

Linda Kaye White, Virginia teacher, will take her place among the best teachers in America during a five-day induction into The National Teachers Hall of Fame June 16-20 in Emporia, Kan. and Washington, D.C. White is a 24-year veteran of the classroom. White teaches music at Haycock Elementary School. "Ms. White has demonstrated a great deal of sensitivity in translation to diverse learning styles and developmental stages. She is an exemplary teacher who can seamlessly take the resources she has gathered from across the world and turn them into meaningful, substantive learning for her students," said Roger D. Tomhave, Fine Arts Coordinator at Fairfax County Public Schools.
