My 10-year-old female doberman has several small bumps all over her body. They have been there for several months and do not appear to be getting bigger. A friend told me that they were the doggie version of skin cancer and that there was nothing that could be done. Is this correct? She has had regular vet treatment. -- Richard, Topeka
Richard, This is a common concern that we address. It can be a very simple skin issue that has nothing to do with a cancer. It could range from a skin infection to tumors. The best advice would be to have it evaluated by a veterinarian. There needs to be a few diagnostic test performed, the greatest of which would be a skin biopsy. This would help give a better idea of what it is and how to treat to concern. Thank you for your question, Dr. Rob Trupp
