Jana Corrie

Jana Corrie is a Kansas native and is thrilled to be home covering Northeast Kansas. She grew up in Emporia and goes back often to visit family and friends. Her loved ones watch from Emporia, Manhattan and Lawrence, and her proud parents have added an extra antenna to their home in Olathe to watch Jana every night. She has fond memories of visiting the Capitol as a child, driving to Topeka for shopping trips and exploring the beauty of Kansas on hunting and fishing trips with her dad.
Before returning to Kansas, Jana spent three years in Tucson, Arizona, as an anchor and reporter. She received the Arizona Associated Press award for her coverage of breaking news. Jana’s most memorable stories include her interview with the Dalai Lama and coverage of a massive wildfire that destroyed hundreds of homes in Southern Arizona. Before Arizona, Jana worked as an anchor and reporter in the Jefferson City, Missouri, television market, where she enjoyed covering statehouse stories. She received her broadcast journalism degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
Jana and her husband Chris bought their first home in Topeka. They adore their long-haired orange tabby, Nellie. Jana likes to exercise and currently teaches step aerobics. She also loves going to movies, reading, playing volleyball and traveling. Her most recent travels took her to seven countries in two weeks.
