Valerie Town is currently working general assignments for 49 News. With this responsibility, she gets to cover everything from crime to schools to local things happening around Topeka.
Valerie came from CNN in Atlanta as a video journalist and before that worked as an assignment editor at the local CBS station in Washington DC.
She's lived on the East coast her whole life but moved to Topeka to work with 49 News and is loving being a reporter with the station.
Valerie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland. While she was there, she also cheered for the UMD competitive cheerleading team and moved on to become a professional cheerleader.
