Storms possible by the afternoon
Expect mostly cloudy skies for your Wednesday, with a few slight breaks in the clouds possible. Highs will range from the upper 40s to the west and north to the upper 50s to the east and south. Showers and storms will return as early as the afternoon, with a few strong storms possible. There is also a slight risk for severe storms for areas to the southeast of a line between Emporia and Lawrence.
Temperatures will fall into the middle to upper 30s overnight. Areas to the northwest and north could see snow mixing in with rain, with accumulation possible late tonight into early Thursday. On and off rain chances continue Thursday, with cooler temperatures and another chance for snow mixing in with rain overnight Thursday into early Friday.
